This is it!   You are heading into the final stretch of your high school career. In a few short months, you’ll no longer be a kid trapped by the confines of secondary schooling.   College awaits, but with freedom comes great financial responsibility. Hopefully, you have been working on scholarship applications to help meet some of your college expenses. If not, don’t worry. You are not alone. Many of your classmates have been putting off applying for all that free college money, too.   You are in the midst of prime scholarship season, so there are many opportunities waiting for you.  Mr. Cruson, our guidance counselor, has put together this list of scholarships which are available to you.  Just grab your laptop and start applying, before these scholarships pass you by!

Illinois AMVETS Service Foundation Scholarships-  www.ilamvets.org     Due Dates Vary – Applications requirements may vary

MARCH

Psi Chapter- Delta Kappa Gamma International Honor Society for Women Educators  Scholarship- Due March 10th- Available to Female students in the upper half of the graduating class that plan to become a teacher.- Scholarship application is available in Mr. Cruson’s office.

Gallatin-Saline Retired Teachers Scholarship- Application is in Mr. Cruson’s office- for students that are planning on majoring in Education or an Education related field   Due March 15, 2019

Illinois Sheriff’s Association Scholarship- Due March 15th, application is available in Mr. Cruson’s office – Open to all graduating seniors.

SICEA Scholarship – Student planning on attending SIC in the fall and completing a program while at SIC.  Due March 25th  – Scholarship application is available in Mr. Cruson’s office.

SIC-Black Diamond Harley Davidson Scholarship- Scholarship information not yet available – Open to seniors attend SIC in the fall- Due Date March 26th

Legence Bank Academic Scholarship-  Due March 29th – Open to all seniors- Scholarship application is available in Mr. Cruson’s office.

Legence Bank & American Farm Mortgage FFA Scholarship- Due March 29th – Open to all FFA Seniors – Scholarship application is available in Mr.
Cruson’s office.

Shawneetown Lions Club- Due March 29th – Open to all graduating seniors – Scholarship applications are available in Mr. Cruson’s office.

Equality Lodge #2 Masonic Scholarship – Due April 1st, Open to all seniors – Scholarship application is available in Mr. Cruson’s office.

Gallatin-Saline Farm Bureau Scholarship-  Due Date April 5th

FFA Alumni and Friends Scholarship- Scholarship application is available in Mr. Cruson’s  office- Due date April 12th

Paul “Skipper” Bishop Scholarship- The “Skipper” Bishop Scholarship is awarded to a graduate that will be attending college in the fall, the student must be from Equality. Scholarship information can be obtained in Mr. Cruson’s office- April 12

Teresa Nussbaum Life is Good Scholarship- the Teresa Nussbaum Life is Good Scholarship is awarded to 2 seniors, application information can be obtained in Mr. Cruson’s office- April 12th

Carolyn Baltimore Scholarship- Scholarship is awarded by Ms. Baltimore, application information can be obtained in Mr. Cruson’s office- April 12th

Robert “Radar” Patton Scholarship- Awarded by family of Coach Robert “Radar” Patton, this scholarship is open to graduating seniors, scholarship information can be obtained in Mr. Cruson’s  office –April 12th

Egyptian Health Department Scholarship- Students must declare a Human Service/Health Care Service intent.  –Due Date April 12th

Deputy Dave Mills Scholarship- provided by his family- The Deputy Dave Mills Scholarship is available to students that are planning a career in law enforcement- application information can be obtained in Mr. Cruson’s office- Due Date April 12th

Carl & Janet Jennings Scholarship- Due April 1st – The Jennings scholarship is open to those students who have an emphasis on STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering & Mathematics) majors/careers.  Applications are available in Mr. Cruson’s office- Due Date April 17th

Ballard-Barger Scholarship- Provided by Dr. Suzan Brydon (Former Graduate)  - (2) $1000 scholarships will be awarded to graduating Seniors that have a high GPA, with an emphasis on 1st generation college students- other requirements may apply – Scholarship applications are available in Mr. Cruson’s office- Due Date April 17th

WADI Scholarship- Scholarship is based upon financial need – Due date April 18th

BETA Club Scholarship- Awarded to a Senior BETA Club member

New Haven Lodge Scholarship- Scholarship is awarded by the New Haven Lodge to 2 graduating seniors from New Haven- contact New Haven Lodge

Gallatin County Athletic Boosters Scholarship- Scholarship information not yet available- open to graduating senior athletes at Gallatin County High School.
 
 
 
AWARDED BY SCHOOL NO APPLICATION NEEDED:

Jeremy Wooden Scholarship- Wooden Scholarship provided by the family of Jeremy Wooden- Scholarship is awarded by high school staff- no application required

Scates Family Scholarship- Scates Scholarship provided by the family and awarded by the high school staff, No application required

John F. Kennedy Scholarship- JFK Scholarship is provided by the Gallatin County Democratic Party and is awarded by the high school staff, No application required

Isaac E. White Scholarship- The Isaac E. White Scholarship is awarded by the high school staff to students based on their academic performance- No application required
