The pink team (Madison, Collin, & Kate) constructed the longest chain.

The 8th grade tech students worked in groups to see who could create the longest chain given only 4 pieces of construction paper.

We are finishing the last day of Tackling the Tough Skills today with University of Illinois Extension. This workforce readiness program helps students prepare for their futures by participating in mock interviews, communication, and team work activities.

Gallatin County FCCLA attended the Section Rally today at Fairfield. Students attended workshops, listened to a keynote speaker, competed In events and ran for section office. Outgoing Section Officers were Tylar Colbert and Rylie Rushing. Elected to office today was Mason Bean. Tylar will be running for State Office in April.

The GC high school cheerleaders with their 3rd place trophy at Cheer for a Cure. Thank you to everyone who supported the cheerleaders. All money raised goes to local families battling cancer. Missing in the picture is Kallie Keasler, who performed even being sick. Great job ladies!

The cheerleaders will be “passing the bucket” tonight at the boys game at SIC. They are collecting money to donate tomorrow at the Cheer for a Cure competition. If you are at the game, please throw in a dollar or two to support local families battling cancer.

The jr. high tech students are working hard to create obstacle courses and program Edison robots to drive through them using the coding skills they have been learning in class.




Don’t forget to come support the Gallatin County High School Cheerleaders tomorrow at Cheer for a Cure at Carmi High School. Performance is at 1:09, but be a little early. Go Hawks!

Student Council members attended a district meeting at Mount Vernon High School today. Brylee Bayer and Sidney Raymer were members of the Credentials Committee who interviewed officer candidates. Kallie Keasler is the current District Liaison for the Little Egypt District of Student Councils. Lilly Finnie is running for next years District Liaison position. Great job girls!

To support our high school Hawks playing in the GEC tournament Friday night, wear your Gallatin crewnecks to school this Friday, January 31st. The seniors are dubbing it #NationalCrewneckDay! Let’s fill the SIC gym with Hawks supporters rockin’ the iconic crewneck!
