IHSA has released new guidelines about sports. This information is current but ever-changing. Currently, for high school, fall cross country will take place on a limited basis with guidelines about meets in place. Volleyball will be moved to take place in the spring. We will update information on each season closer to that season as this information changes weekly. This information is for high school sports only. We look forward to the safe return of all our student athletes. #inthistogether

Good Afternoon, In person registration for Gallatin County Prek - 12th has temporarily been postponed for this week. We have done this to help maintain social distancing and allow parents a chance to utilize our new online forms option on My School Bucks. When you register your students online you will have an option to choose remote or in person learning. We will monitor the registration process to get an accurate count of class sizes to help us follow IDPH guidelines. Registration dates will be set later for new students or any students having complications with online registration. Elementary teachers will be contacting parents this week via telephone to discuss classroom rules and introduce themselves.. Please check out facebook pages and school websites for links to my school buck where you can fill out our school forms. Reminder these forms are for all students remote and in person learners. Have a great day everyone, stay safe. MySchoolBucks-->https://www.myschoolbucks.com/ver2/getmain?requestAction=home

Gallatin County ACES Team wins 2nd place in the state for the 300 boundaried (public) division! A couple of weeks ago, as half of the team were scrambling to prepare graduation speeches, our team received a surprising email that our state host, EIU, was able to host the state competition virtually. Gallatin County had qualified for the state competition by receiving 3rd place in our sectional competition the week we went into quarantine back in March. So, as 8 of our 14 members were saying goodbye to high school with their private graduation appointments, they were also logging on to take their final WYSE/ACES tests. We received the results this week, they were: 1st place Durand High School 2nd place Gallatin County High School 3rd Edwards County High School 4th Eastland High School 5th United School District 304 We also had six individual medal winners, breaking a seven year school record for the state event. The individual winners were: Morgan Schmitt 4th place in Biology, Abbie Keasler 5th place in Biology, Blake Seely 4th place in Math and 5th place in Chemistry, Brock Seely 4th place in Engineering Graphics, and Jayde Pennington 5th place in Math. Two of our retiring seniors end the year earning a spot as a top 10 medalist in Gallatin County School history. Kallie Keasler ranks 7th on the list with 9 individual medals and 4 team medals (1st, 1st, 3rd, and 2nd) and Blake Seely climbed to the 3rd spot after this event with 12 individual medals and 3 team medals (1st, 3rd, and 2nd). Brock Seely became the 5th Hawk to receive two consecutive state medals (2019 and 2020) and Blake Seely is the 4th Hawk to double medal at the state event. This year’s team joins a long list of teams to place at the state event. Gallatin County placed 2nd in 2013, 4th in 2015, 1st in 2016, 2017, and 2018, 3rd in 2019, and now 2nd in 2020. Even though our retiring seniors were part of the 2018 1st place team, probably their greatest accomplishment was their successful campaign to SAVE WYSE in 2018. Many more Gallatin County students will have the honor to participate in ACES because of their efforts.
