Mr. Cruson Scholarahip message #2- The Lions club scholarship is also still about a week away from its deadline. It is a very easy scholarship to fill out and I would encourage you to go ahead and work on it, as it will not take long to complete. The application is online at school site and on the app. It has a deadline of April 24th, and completed apps should be emailed to me. As always email me with questions and completed apps.

To honor our seniors, the Gallatin County class of 2020 will have a parade this Easter Sunday (4/12) beginning at 4 p.m. in New Haven. We should parade around Ridgway about 4:20 to 4:40. We will be driving through several streets including Main Street. After Ridgway we will be heading to Shawneetown then Equality. We are coming up with routes for each town. We want everyone to stay safe and practice social distancing while we honor our seniors. This is such a special class! They have missed out on so many highlights of their senior year. Please get out in your yard and give these kids a wave or make a sign or show your school spirit with some navy and orange! They need something fun and uplifting 💙🧡In case of rain, we will postpone the parade to 4/19. We are looking forward to seeing you!!! If you are a senior, please be at New Haven to line up a little before 4. Don’t forget, we are social distancing. So everyone in their own car or with your own parent.

Gallatin County Community Unit School District No. 7 Judy Kaegi, Superintendent 5175 Highway 13 Junction, Illinois 62954 March 31, 2020 Dear Parents and Guardians, Gallatin County CUSD 7 has continued to be committed in keeping students engaged in learning during Governor Pritzker’s mandatory statewide school closure/Act of God Days. Initially our teachers created and sent home-work packets for students, teachers utilized Google Classroom, many designed assignments considering those students who would not have access to online options. Books were sent home with Jr. High and High School students and assignments were emailed using their student school email address. On Friday, March 27, we received a guidance document from ISBE and the Governor announcing that current Act of God Days would change and become Remote Learning Days as of March 31, 2020. With this change expectations for the district, our students and families have also changed. • Students are expected to participate in remote learning and complete the work packets and any online content/activities assigned by teachers. • Teachers will prepare enough remote learning content for students two weeks at a time labeling the date work was assigned and date it is due. • Student work packets must be turned in every two weeks. Packets will be collected and also delivered with meal deliveries, or by emailing the teacher(s). Please make sure the name of student, grade, and teacher’s name is on the work so we can get it to the correct teacher’s classroom. • Teacher’s will continue to be available to students through email, district voicemail, or through other technology. Teachers will make every attempt to answer all questions you may have. • Principals will send out a letter detailing specific information for each school. The remote learning content and activities will be tied to the existing curriculum of Gallatin County CUSD# 7 schools. If you need assistance our secretaries are receiving school calls at home. Call 618 272-3821 Elementary ext. 1308; Jr. High ext. 1300; High School ext. 1224. Thank you for your support and your understanding as we continue forward. We are Stronger Together!” Superintendent Kaegi
